With only 10 days until the project is due, I thought I'd talk about my journey so far, with all the difficulties and everything I’ve learnt so far.
I was excited about choosing to do a feature about surrogacy as it is a subject so close to my heart and very personal to me. Having just recently interviewed Kim Cotton, the UK’s first surrogate and chairperson of COTS agency I’m confident that I’ve gathered all of the sources necessary to complete my project. There is a potential for one more, but I’ve had difficulties hearing back from them.
Nevertheless, I have been majorly successful in achieving all of the interviews I was hoping for. Every person I’ve talked to has a different story, but they all fit under the topic of surrogacy in the UK. Meeting my surrogate, Jill was a great experience and hearing her story was incredible. I will talk about my experience in my next blog.
For the remaining week and a half of doing this project, I’m increasing the amount I post on my social media accounts (on X and Instagram) in order to drive traffic towards my project and educate as many people as possible on surrogacy.
On the 6th December I am attending the ‘How much change do we want? Updating fertility, embryo, and surrogacy law’ conference where I will listen to several speakers talk about all things surrogacy and surrogacy law. Unfortunately, the event was moved online due to train strikes however, I’m hoping to use the event to learn more about the laws and surrogacy itself.
With not much left to do but write and edit my video and audio clips together I’m excited to see what the finished product will look like.
